Caring for our world – Made in UK

Qudo world in a hand

Caring for our world – Made in UK – At Qudo™, we are committed to supporting parents, carers and babies whilst creating solutions that don’t negatively impact our world.  So we have created the Qudo Soother™ to last well and all aspects of our product are made and manufactured in the UK, limiting our carbon footprint and supporting UK manufacturing.

Having over 20 years’ experience as a Chiropractor and Craniosacral Therapist, specialising in Paediatrics, Nicky has successfully supported and worked with very challenging cases, especially inconsolable & persistently crying infants. She has dedicated her career to improving the immediate and longer-term wellbeing of young infants and their families by helping resolve the root cause of their discomfort.

Nicky’s passion to help parents and young infants has developed and refined her idea to create something new and valuable – the Qudo Soother™.  Her innovative thinking and focus continues to drive further advances to the first years of an infant’s life.

It’s the only soother she will take now.

Qudo Soother™

It’s helped 100%, massive help and couldn’t have done without it.

Ian, Bristol

Qudo Soother™ delivers lasting therapeutic value – it’s not a normal dummy! Its proven and innovative design delivers relief to babies suffering with persistent crying and colic.

Our patented soother has a uniquely designed teat that mimics sucking on a finger.  The teat shape, angle and density is formulated to softly rest on a baby’s upper palate to naturally relieve strains and structural tensions. The unique Qudo Soother™ design can enhance an infants’ cranial rhythm, resetting and improving biological and physiological mechanisms. This helps to naturally release tensions within their body and reduces discomfort.

The Solution – Soothing Science™ Designed Specifically, Designed Scientifically, Proven in Trials, Proven in Life.

Designed Specifically

The Qudo Soother™, designed and created by Nicky Bateman, is the result of treating babies struggling with persistent crying and colic. Having discovered from parents that the soothers they tried didn’t work, Nicky decided to research this further using her medical knowledge. Having mentioned to parents that babies often like to suck on a finger for relief, she had a light bulb moment and developed the Qudo Soother™, specifically designed to apply the practice of Chiropractic and Craniosacral therapies to solve the discomfort of babies.

Designed Scientifically

Using both her knowledge as a Chiropractor, Craniosacral Therapist and further research, Nicky took the concept of sucking on a little finger and spent 10 years researching the exact weight, size and density to create a soother teat that mimics a human finger. The patented Qudo Soother™ is unique in its form with a curved teat that applies gentle pressure on the roof of the mouth – an action that has been demonstrated to relieve pain. This can alleviate the patterns of pressure that can arise in a baby’s skull due to its natural flexibility needed for growth.

Proven in Trials

An independent study of the Qudo Soother™ in 2019 with the University of Surrey demonstrated its effectiveness in treating persistent crying and colic. Parents reported a significant drop in irritability and crying in babies that had used the soother. The length and quality of the babies’ sleep also improved. Parents made remarks such as ‘a different baby – so much happier’ or ‘getting much better and rarely cries.’

Proven in Life

The Qudo Soother™ is highly successful, helping your baby and solving the many causes of persistent crying. It helps to take away the cranial strains that cause pain for your baby and this then reduces the stress for you. Some babies from the trials are still using the Qudo Soother™ and some siblings too have added to the evidence that the soother helps babies and therefore parents. It also lasts so well that it’s limiting damage to our environment.

Proven solution with no need for medication

Nicky Bateman

Founder/CEO

I started my working life in the Royal Navy and moved to Bupa Health Services where I became the youngest female General Manager within the business. Following my heart and my passion for helping people, I then trained as a Chiropractor and Craniosacral Therapist and for the past 18+ years I have successfully treated many babies, children and adults and gained a respected reputation. Since having my 💡 moment, I have also focused on developing and launching the Qudo Soother™ to benefit as many babies and families as possible.

What is Qudo™ to me

A safe, sensible and easy solution that really works to help distressed infants, it has been life changing for some families going through a challenging time. Throughout the whole development of the Qudo Soother™ it has been babies that have informed the design and construction at every step. Even through the challenges of this journey, the utter joy of witnessing first hand a crying infant become happy and content, has driven me to deliver this soother to all who need it. It has been a thrilling ride and Qudo™ will touch and help so many families.
